Lounge Carpet Cleaning Crawley

lounge carpet cleaning Crawley

Here is a lounge carpet which was recently cleaned in the Crawley area. We often get asked to clean lounge carpets and in fact we clean this particular room more than any other. There are many reasons for this. Firstly, it is the room which tends to have the most food and drink spills. Secondly, it is the room which is used the most and also used to entertain guests. So people like to keep their lounge carpet looking as good as possible.

We use a range of solutions to get your carpets looking as clean and bright as possible. Most of the solutions we use are eco-friendly. They are also safe for children and pets. The solution is sprayed down on the carpet and mechanically agitated using a contra rotating brush machine. This enables the solution to get deep into the carpet pile and gives it time to work on the stains and tackle the dirt. Once this process is complete, we then use a top of the range hot water extraction machine to rinse away the dirt and bacteria that has attached itself to your carpet fibres, leaving everything fresh and smelling great.

Our system and the solutions we use can tackle a wide variety of stubborn stains and lift away the dirt from your carpets. We use a wet cleaning method as we feel that this is the most deep and thorough clean your carpets can get. Although your carpets may be a little damp post clean, they usually dry within a matter of just a few hours and can be walked on straight away. We provide overshoes to enable you to walk on your freshly cleaned carpets.

Bliss Cleaning is carpet cleaning company in Crawley covering most RH postcodes and parts of Surrey. You can contact us on 0800 779 7275 for a no obligation quote to clean your carpets and upholstery. We deal with domestic and commercial customers to clean and maintain carpets and furnishings.

Will my carpets be wet cleaned and will they be left damp?

The primary method of cleaning carpets is the hot water extraction method. Here at Bliss Cleaning, we use this method for the vast majority of jobs we carry out. Why? Because in our opinion it is the best process for removing dirt, bacteria and stains and the method also excels at dealing with bad odours.

On a typical job involving the cleaning of all carpeted areas in a three bedroom house, we would normally use anywhere between 30 – 60 litres of water to clean the carpets. While this may seem like a lot of water, most of it is recovered through the vacuum hose attached to the carpet wand. So while we are spraying solution on the carpet, we are simultaneously recovering most of the water we put down. This leaves the carpets feeling a little damp, but much like your clothes drying on a hanger, they will naturally dry out within the course of a few hours.

There are low moisture methods and very low moisture methods which have their place in the cleaning industry. If your carpets are sensitive to moisture or you simply require dry carpets straightaway, this is achievable by using a very low moisture method. A rotary machine can also be used for a low moisture method although this is better suited to low profile carpets for which we offer a commercial carpet cleaning service.

If you are unsure about the type of method which is best suited to your carpets and upholstery, simply get in touch and we can guide you through the various options. Bliss Cleaning is a Crawley based carpet and upholstery cleaning service which operates throughout West Sussex and parts of Surrey. You can contact us via the web form or call us on 0800 779 7275.

Commercial Carpet Cleaning

Commercial carpets typically found in offices differ in their nature to the type of carpet found in the home. Often, the preference is for carpet tiles which are hard wearing and have a low profile which is suitable for the type of footfall you will encounter in a commercial environment.

Due to the nature of this type of carpet and the potential for a large number of electronic items which are usually found in places like offices, we are able to undertake a low moisture clean of commercial premises. This has the added benefit of quicker drying times and minimised chances of wick back – where a stain is likely to reappear sometime after cleaning.

Here is a recent before/after picture of a typical office clean we carry out using an encapsulation chemical which is scrubbed in using a rotary. The system and chemicals we use are very effective at dealing with the types of spots and spills typically found in a commercial environment.

Contact us today if you’d like to book a commercial clean. This type of cleaning is usually subject to a site visit prior to the clean to enable us to provide an accurate quote and assess any issues before any work is carried out.

How to handle soft drink spills on your carpets

soft drink spill

If you have spilled a soft drink or something like milk or even ice cream on your carpet, the best thing to do is act quickly. Using a white cloth or towel, soak up as much of the spill as possible.

The next step is to use a detergent solution. Mix one teaspoon of gentle detergent (something you’d use for delicate clothes for example). Apply a small amount of this detergent to a dry white cloth or towel and blot the area (do not rub as this will make it worse).  Work from the outside of the stain inwards.

Once you have removed as much of the spill as possible, repeat the blotting process using cold or lukewarm water in place of the detergent solution, in order to rinse it out of the carpet.

As long as you have followed the steps above, you should have been able to remove most if not all of the stain, provided you have acted quickly.

Caution: Always test any product you intend to use on carpets and upholstery first in an area that is out of sight.

The above procedure is intended as a guide only – use at your own risk. It is no substitute for calling a professionally trained carpet cleaner to deal with the issue. If you are unsure about doing this yourself, contact us on 0800 779 7275 and we will be able to assist you or provide you with professional help.

Why you need to test carpet and upholstery spotters and sprays

carpet stain removal

So you spilled a bit of tea, coffee or wine on your beautiful carpet. Panic sets in about how to go about removing it. You remember that advert where a quick spray of a product makes these stains magically disappear. So off you go to the supermarket and get yourself one of these magic sprays and then let it do its magic on your carpets or upholstery.

As a carpet cleaner, I’ve seen many instances of where someone has used said sprays. The results are usually not pretty. The residue is still there as the detergent isn’t biodegradable and quite often there is a discolouration of the carpet, maybe even damage too from scrubbing the fibres.

The first advice I would give is not to use these products. There are various more effective and safer ways to deal with spills, especially if you’ve acted quickly enough. Just recently I wrote about how to remove tea and coffee stains using products you can buy from your local store.

However, if you still wish to use one of these products, it’s essential to test it first in an area which is out of sight. This is to make sure that you won’t be causing any damage or discolouration to the fibres. Also, you can figure out how much of the product to use first. My advice is to use it sparingly rather than assume that more product will get better results.

If you’re still stuck after all that, I may be able to help, but be aware that you may already have caused damage or discolouration to the fibres to the point where fixing the issue will involve more than just professional stain removal.

I am a Crawley based carpet cleaner covering all RH postcodes and some parts of Surrey and Kent. Contact me on 0800 779 7275 if you require professional help with stain removal or carpet and upholstery cleaning.

Tea and Coffee Stain Removal | Crawley, West Sussex

tea and coffee stain removal

If you’ve had a tea and coffee spill and it’s still fresh, there is a procedure you can follow to enable you to remove part if not all of this yourself, saving yourself the cost of a call out fee. Simply follow the instructions below:

  1. Blot up any excess spillage using a white towel or cloth.
  2. Mix together a tablespoon of white vinegar and half a litre of warm water. Apply to your towel and continue to blot the stain, working from the outer part of the stain inwards so as not to spread it.
  3. Once you have finished doing this, repeat the blotting procedure with cold or lukewarm water.
  4. If necessary, leave the towel on the stain for a few hours or overnight, placing a large object on top of it, such as a heavy book.

By following the above steps, you should be able to remove most or all of the stain yourself, provided you have acted quickly.

Caution: Always test any product you use on your carpets and upholstery first in an area that is out of sight.

The above procedure is intended as a guide and is not a substitute for getting a professional in to deal with the stains. If you are unsure about doing this yourself, contact us on 0800 779 7275 and we will be happy to help or to offer our professional services.

The key to removing any stain successfully, including tea and coffee stains, is to act quickly and follow the correct method. Never scrub a carpet – always blot so as not to damage the fibres. We do not recommend the use of carpet shampoos and off the shelf products as these can potentially make a situation worse especially when used by anyone with little experience.
